The breeding of cattle in Osiek began in the first half of the 20th century by the Polish Academy of Learning. After restructuring in 1995, part of the property was turned into a limited liability company: Ośrodek Hodowli Zarodowej w Osieku Spółka z o.o. (Pedigree Breeding Centre in Osiek Co. Ltd.)
We breed and sell high-quality Polish Holstein-Friesian dairy cattle of black-and-white and red-and-white varieties. The role of our company is to improve the genetic base of this type of cattle, which is available for Polish agriculture in the form of new generations of animals. We have about 1800 head of cattle.In two modernized cattle sheds at our breeding farms in Nidek and Wieprz (near Wadowice and Żywiec, respectively), 800 high-performing dairy cows are kept. We have two modern milking parlours (side-by-side type). In 2025 the average milk yield amounted to 12 466 kg.
We also breed fish. With a total of 253 ha of ponds we produce carps and other species. In 2014 our Osiecki Carp (the so-called Royal carp) was entered on the List of Traditional Products held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The greatest breeding achievement of the company was the bull Zaner - a leader of the breeding value estimation rating in 2003 for Black and White Polish Holstein-Friesian cattle.
To farm almost 1200 hectares, we use state-of-the-art agricultural equipment. We produce corn, wheat, rapeseed, green forages, to mention just a few. Our commercial offer includes: Polish Holstein-Friesian breeding bulls and in-calf heifers, milk, fish (common carp, pike, grass carp, tench, silver carp, Crucian carp, catfish), grains and rapeseed.
